Play time for World of Warcraft and more could be added to Xbox Game Pass, according to Microsoft insider and Windows Central author Jez Corden. He has "heard" that the corporation is trying to find a way to increase the value of the Ultimate tier of the subscription. It has cost $30 per month since last fall, but many find this offer questionable.
According to Corden, Microsoft is considering adding subscriptions like Fallout First (for Fallout 76) and Minecraft Realms (for the Bedrock edition of Minecraft). However, the journalist does not know if these plans will actually be implemented.
Many gamers doubt that Microsoft will take such a drastic step. A World of Warcraft subscription costs $15, so adding it would almost certainly raise Game Pass prices again. Players also noted that they were willing to pay $20 per month for Game Pass Ultimate — which was the case until last fall when the offer did not include Fortnite and Ubisoft subscriptions. For many, these turned out to be unnecessary.
Overall, the future development of the Xbox ecosystem remains unclear. Asha Sharma, who replaced Phil Spencer as head of Microsoft's gaming division, wants to return to the "roots" of Xbox. However, the businesswoman has not disclosed specific plans.
