World of Warcraft less and less of an MMO: new tools for solo play will be added to the game
In the next patch for World of Warcraft, solo players will find a new layer of tmp buffs for open zones — little gear tweaks you socket into belts or bracers that trigger a random perk. Some perks are outright offensive: think poisonous clouds that tick damage or sap movement; others act more like safeguards, e.g., a proc that blocks critical strikes. To graft one of these you’ll need a special mat that drops from the "Depths" run and certain hunting quests — not something you earn by just grinding mobs. Note: these mods are strictly OW/solo tools (they work in world zones, at world bosses and in dungeon-depths) and are deliberately disabled in raids, group instances, and PvP, so don’t expect to bring them into organized group content. Oddly practical, perhaps—useful for carving through solo encounters, useless for group strats.
