Vampire Survivors will receive the Legacy of the Bloodmoon expansion on August 28

The independent team poncle says their hit autobattler Vampire Survivors will get an expansion, Legacy of the Bloodmoon, in one week — on August 28. The reveal came with a short teaser.

Long ago, Saint Baal-Tazar dreamed of a scarlet-lit paradise and founded the Order of the Red Moon to guide people there. He set off on a pilgrimage and never came back.

Without him, the Order splintered; fringe sects sprouted like weeds. Now a particularly ruthless cult — the Blood Moon Clan — is retracing Baal-Tazar’s steps…

The new DLC includes:

• More than 10 diverse playable characters, including:
  • Malicia Bloodmoon — a ruthless matron who marshals a crowd of followers and puts them forward as living shields.
  • Calogero Bloodmoon — part man, part berserker; blood-hungry, axe-wielding, and happy to clear the path with blunt force.
  • Baal-Tazar — the remnants of the original founder, warped by whatever fate met him on that lost pilgrimage.
  • Astarte — once a devoted follower of Baal, now a spiteful, otherworldly presence.
  • Sargon — an ancient king whose fear of death and hunger for power trapped him in a hellish prison, eternally.
• More than 16 new types of weapons, including:
  • Scarlet Needle — needles stab foes and leave them paralyzed (e.g., slows movement and attack rates).
  • All-consuming Blaze — a sweeping inferno meant to purge clusters of enemies in one go.
  • Eclipse of the Celestial Vault — a dark celestial phenomenon that warps the skies and tears at reality.
  • Fireball — the long-lived staple; if it ain’t broken, it keeps burning.
• 8 new music tracks.
• A new XL arena — Red Moon Manor.
