Updates for Pax Dei with new markets postponed indefinitely
The creators of Pax Dei started the year with a blog post about development updates, announcing that one of the recently announced major features would be postponed due to community feedback.
The biggest and arguably most controversial topic is the Heartland Market, announced during the winter holidays, which has now been postponed. In theory, it would allow players to trade goods and resources across entire regions, rather than having to search for individual trading posts to acquire them. However, based on community feedback, this idea has been postponed. Nevertheless, Mainframe Industries explained why they hope to integrate this feature, stating that it is intended to reduce complexity for new and low-level players. In short, in their current form, markets require too much specialized knowledge, which makes it difficult to learn the game economy and reduces interest in the game, as well as allowing for the abuse of placing items in inaccessible locations.
Overall, we believe that allowing purchases within the trading zone will turn latent demand into actual transactions, increase participation, and create a healthier and more sustainable player-driven economy for everyone.
Meanwhile, there is much more demand for adding permissions to the clan system, allowing certain players to perform certain actions within it and with its resources. The team knows for sure that it will add more ranks, and renaming the ranks may be one option for better organization.
At the end of the blog, the team hints that more information about the updated release date for the update will be available soon.
