Update 121 for world of warcraft will fulfill a long standing dream of building enthusiasts

Developers of World of Warcraft are still fiddling with the housing tools, and in update 12.1 they intend to answer one of the most persistent player nags — a set of basic building pieces is coming, so folks won't have to invent weird workarounds just to make decent interiors.

Expect a variety of wooden parts:

  • panels for walls/floors (several sizes)
  • triangular tiles
  • round and square columns
  • new stairs — both straight and spiral

All of it is wood by default, but you can repaint items freely (esp. handy if you like odd color schemes or matching themed rooms).

Price-wise, pieces will cost between 25 and 100 gold. You can buy them straight from special vendors in the residential district — no extra unlocks or long grinds reportedly required, afaik.

The stairs got more attention than the rest. They look cleaner than before, use the decor budget more efficiently, and make multi-level constructions far less fiddly. In short: building layered homes should be less of a headache — though whether everyone embraces the new parts remains to be seen.
