Two more Ryzen 7 9800X3D processors have died in the clutches of the AM5 socket on ASUS motherboards While AMD celebrates its leadership in the gaming segment, owners of flagship solutions are facing serious problems. Two new reports have appeared online about the sudden "death" of Ryzen 7 9800X3D processors. It is noteworthy that in both cases, the incidents occurred on expensive ASUS X870E series motherboards, which has led experts to speculate about a possible system error. Previously, similar problems were almost exclusively found with ASRock.
The first victim reported that his ROG Crosshair X870E Hero-based system froze completely while playing Arc Raiders. After rebooting, the motherboard displayed code "00," signaling a critical processor malfunction. No external damage or burn marks were found on the chip, but replacing the CPU with a new one confirmed that the old chip was dead.
The second case was even more frightening: a ROG Strix X870E-E Gaming user reported that his processor failed after a year of stable operation. The repair shop he contacted confirmed the diagnosis and said that they had recently encountered more than 20 similar cases.
