Studio head Scott Amos and game director Will Kerslake shared the latest details about the project Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis. Despite its modern approach, the game will retain the spirit of the 1996 original. At the same time, the mechanics and narrative will be adapted to current industry standards. Special attention has been paid to reimagining the character of Lara Croft. Alix Wilton Regan is responsible for voicing the heroine. The actress promises to preserve Lara's trademark confidence, while adding the emotional depth necessary for modern story-driven games. Alix herself notes that her interpretation of Lara will be reimagined to meet the demands of today's audience.

Although the authors of the original game are not involved in the project, the developers insist that all the key elements of the classic will be carefully preserved. Legacy of Atlantis is positioned as a project "by fans for fans" — the team strives to convey the essence of the first part of the series, but from the perspective of a modern player. The main goal is to create a memorable experience for both newcomers and long-time fans of the franchise. The developers want every player to experience the same emotions as in 1996, as if for the first time.

Scott Amos explains that the team took all the iconic moments from the original and thought about how to show them through the prism of modern game design. This involves not only updating the camera and controls, but also rethinking key scenes so that they feel relevant while retaining the epic spirit of adventure action.

According to Amos, the goal is to give longtime fans the opportunity to experience the magic of the original again, and to allow new players to discover it for themselves. He emphasizes that it's important not to simply copy the original, but to find a balance between respect for the classic and the needs of a modern audience.

In addition, the developers have cautiously hinted at a possible connection between the future Lara Croft series and the game universe. Although there are no specific announcements yet, Scott Amos is confident that expanding the franchise to different media formats will benefit fans. According to him, the appearance of Tomb Raider in new formats will only increase interest in the series and reveal additional facets of the story.
