During the New Game+ Showcase 2026 presentation, Pearl Abyss representative Will Powers shared new details about the upcoming game Crimson Desert.

The open world of the project is not only vast — surpassing the maps of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Red Dead Redemption 2 in size — but also rich with interactive elements. Players are set to explore expansive lands and islands floating in the sky — the "aerial abyss," solve spatial puzzles, and fill a personal codex by engaging with the world and its inhabitants.

Dragons will be a key feature: players can fight them and even use them for transportation, although the question of their ultimate defeat remains open.

Developers emphasize freedom in crafting personal stories through nonlinear event chains and side quests, rather than romantic relationships. Progress includes crafting equipment, gathering resources, and acquiring housing.

The game is designed for varying session lengths: even in an hour, players can gain a full experience thanks to the world's rich assortment of activities.
