Creative Director of Ashes of Creation and founder of Intrepid Studios Steven Sharif revealed that the company has lost almost all of its employees. Recall that the multiplayer role-playing game entered early access in December 2025, but now it risks disappearing forever.

According to Sharif, something else came to light — in February, Intrepid Studios employees will not receive their salaries due to a lack of funds. It is almost certain that the studio's workers will file lawsuits and demand payment of their earned money, and Ashes of Creation itself risks shutting down.

However, some observant gamers had questions... According to a document from late 2025, Steven Sharif is the CEO of Intrepid Studios and the sole representative of the board of directors. This led many to believe that the studio's founder is trying to "justify himself" and walk away with the money earned from Ashes of Creation sales, abandoning further development.

And some remembered the Ashes of Creation Kickstarter campaign. There, the developers promised to return all donations to the senders if the game did not release on Steam. Ultimately, the MMORPG made it to early access, where it received mixed reviews. Therefore, players potentially cannot request a refund for their purchase or Kickstarter donations.
