Strategy Game "Bosslords" About Evil Forces to Launch in 2026
Publisher Hooded Horse, in collaboration with RocketMoose Studios, has officially unveiled the game Bosslords — an unusual blend of strategy, roguelike, and auto-battler. The project's release is scheduled for 2026.
The game's unique feature is that the player must take the side of the dark forces and challenge the established world order. The plot breaks familiar fantasy tropes. In a world ruled by the Empire, excessive order and safety have taken hold. The player takes on the role of a powerful Boss Lord, destined to shatter this "perfect" order.
To achieve this goal, it is necessary to assemble a motley army of monsters, bandits, and outcasts, and then lead a campaign against the imperial capital. The journey will take place across diverse locations — from land territories to sea expanses and airspace, with all these zones being procedurally generated.
The gameplay offers a choice of several unique characters, each with their own backstory, upgrade system, and special tactical capabilities. For example, the Goblin General relies on numerical superiority and strict discipline, while the Necromancer can resurrect fallen fighters as skeletons. The Dragon Tamer harnesses the power of lizards, the Warlord offers her own approach to warfare, and the Mage specializes in summoning elementals. Differences in starting armies and available spells for each hero ensure high replayability.
Army formation happens in various ways: in taverns, shops, and during random encounters on the map. The player can hire the most unusual fighters — from orc drummers who speed up attacks, to banshees capable of paralyzing opponents, or even skeletons with rifles.
Although battles take place in automatic mode, the player retains the ability to influence their course: use magic (erect walls of fire, hurl lightning, summon meteor showers), and employ potions and artifacts to strengthen their minions.
