It's War! Black Ops 7 Updates Ricochet Anti-Cheat to Ban Cheaters on Consoles Too

And do you still believe the fairy tale that there are no cheaters on consoles?

With the launch of the second season of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone, the Ricochet Anti-Cheat system is strengthening protection for the ranked mode, Ranked Play. The main focus is on combating input modification devices like Cronus Zen and XIM Matrix, which give players an unfair advantage.

Instead of searching for specific hardware, the updated anti-cheat analyzes player behavior: timing, action consistency, and reaction patterns. This allows it to detect interference even if the devices are disguised.

For PC players in Ranked Play, an additional check is being introduced — remote system verification via the cloud before a match, which blocks access for users with modified systems.

Activision separately emphasizes that such devices, despite being available in stores, are prohibited in Call of Duty, as they are designed solely for gaining an unfair advantage. This update lays the groundwork for further tightening of control in competitive modes.
