The second season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will start airing in the fall of 2026
This week, CD Projekt RED and Netflix teased names and portraits for the follow-up to the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners; bits dripped out over several days until, well, today — everything came together into a single key art. They also announced an estimated release window: autumn 2026. The poster is by illustrator Ichigo Kanno from studio TRIGGER — yes, the same crew behind season one.
Each character has a short blurb on the art (they appear counterclockwise):
- Wick Kingsley — once nicknamed "The King." A veteran mercenary who now moves through the city like a shadow of his former self (w/ a past that won't quit).
- Dee — a netrunner from the nomadic clan "Snake People," driven to track down the killer who wiped out his group; single-minded, resourceful, and not someone you'd want hunting you.
- Roman Karax — a young cinephile mourning a city that swapped theaters for braindances. Obsessed with finding and filming real stories; he watches people the way others watch films.
- Talia Yang — raised in corporate towers but more at home with chrome and violence; she carries that corporate polish into dangerous places.
The sequel is built as a standalone tale, billed as "a raw, sincere chronicle of redemption and revenge" — dramatic phrasing, sure, but that’s the hook. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 won’t tie directly into the original season. Expect ten episodes in the second run. More adaptation details are supposed to drop in the coming days.
