The release date of the ecological simulator BioEden has been announced, and its demo version has been released

Focus Entertainment and the team at Broken Arms Games have pinned BioEden's release to September 3, 2026 — and yes, there’s a free demo on Steam if you want to try it early.

You step into the role of the Keeper, appointed by the Cosmic Community to coax life back onto an extinct world. The focus is on making and maintaining nature in a solarpunk register: tasks include, e.g., clearing accumulated waste, converting it into usable materials, and putting in basic infrastructure such as solar arrays and water systems. Expect trade-offs — every new construction nudges pollution upward, so old or worn buildings need timely removal to keep the balance.

Reviving dozens of animal species is the simulator’s central aim. Players gather DNA samples, place incubators, and recreate habitats beneath domes by tweaking temperature, humidity and plant types. There are five guilds to pick from, each offering distinct skills and methods for ecosystem recovery (which, I admit, sounds both rewarding and fiddly).

The Steam demo contains a complete tutorial and introduces the core systems — resource handling, construction workflows, and animal care — with guidance from a helper robot named Charles. Heads-up: save files from this trial build will not transfer to the final release.
