Producer of Kingdom Come: Deliverance Believes "Real Gamers" Don't Care About Agendas — But He's Mistaken, and History Proves It

The Kingdom Come: Deliverance series often finds itself at the center of ideological debates. The first part was criticized by Western journalists for insufficient representation, while the second faced backlash from gamers for the opposite: an unconventional romance and a Black character.

Warhorse Studios co-founder Martin Klíma told PC Gamer that all this noise hardly affects the fate of games. According to him, scandals are a double-edged sword: they bring additional fame but distract from the product itself. Klíma believes these controversies concern only a small group of internet activists and hardly intersect with the main gaming audience. The team's morale wasn't broken by the attacks; rather, it united them, creating a "besieged fortress" effect.

However, the history of recent years clearly shows that games focused on the "unimportant" DEI and woke agendas often fail.
