The Number of Episodes in the TV Series Based on Brandon Sanderson's "Stormlight Archive" Has Been Revealed

Writer Brandon Sanderson, author of The Stormlight Archive, said the first season of the TV adaptation will consist of 10 episodes. In a conversation with Joe Abercrombie ("The First Law") he added that he plans to write most of the screenplay and serve as the show's showrunner — a pretty hands-on arrangement rather than a distant credit. During the discussion the writer also mentioned another screen project, Mistborn. Sanderson says that script is nearly finished; his progress meter on his website shows 85% (approx., FYI). He expects to move straight onto the Stormlight screenplay afterward. Back in January it became public that Apple had acquired the rights to both adaptations. Sanderson, however, has kept the ability to exercise full creative control over how the stories are developed.
