Roadmaps for Classic World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade and Mists of Pandaria, and the Upcoming Midnight Expansion
During the "State of Azeroth" broadcast, development roadmaps for three versions of World of Warcraft in 2026 were presented: Midnight, Mists of Pandaria Classic, and the "Anniversary" of The Burning Crusade Classic.
World of Warcraft: Midnight
The expansion release is scheduled for March 2nd, featuring extensive content: new zones, a story campaign, the Haranir allied race, the Hunts system, incursions, dungeons, and three raids.
Throughout the year, subsequent updates will add:
- "Prop Hunt" mode.
- New quests and story progression.
- Two single-boss mini-raids.
- Improvements to the housing system and social features.
- A new type of incursion content — "Labyrinths".
- A separate game mode from the creators of "Plunderstorm".
Mists of Pandaria Classic
The development of the classic version will proceed in two major phases:
- Spring ("Escalation"): a new story campaign, the open-world event "Battlefield: Steppes", Brawler's Guild updates, scenarios, and continuation of the legendary quest chain.
- Summer ("Siege of Orgrimmar"): opening of the Timeless Isle, release of the climactic raid "Siege of Orgrimmar", a new arena, a PvP season, and a new dungeon difficulty level.
"Anniversary" The Burning Crusade Classic
The anniversary servers will progress through four phases with the gradual unlocking of classic content:
- Winter: launch, opening of Outland and the first raids (Karazhan, Gruul's Lair).
- Spring: "The Eye" and "Serpentshrine Cavern" raids.
- Summer: "Hyjal Summit" and "Black Temple" raids.
- Autumn/Winter: "Zul'Aman" and "Sunwell Plateau" raids.
Each phase for all game versions will also be accompanied by corresponding PvP seasons, events, and profession updates.
