Survival Game Dune: Awakening Receives Its Third Story Chapter

Funcom has released a major update, "Chapter 3," for Dune: Awakening, focused on overhauling late-game content and streamlining the gameplay loop.

A key change is the complete removal of base upkeep taxes.

The system for interacting with the Landsraad has been completely reworked. Progress in faction missions now develops one of five specializations: combat, sabotage, exploration, gathering, or crafting. Leveling up unlocks unique technologies, including augmentations for top-tier gear.

Ten new zones have been added to the map, five of which are multi-level testing stations with increasing difficulty.

The in-game arsenal has been expanded with a volley flamethrower and paired blades, while the rapier has received an updated moveset.

Starting February 5th, a ten-day community-wide challenge, "Raiders of the Lost Stations," will begin. Completing missions collectively will allow players to unlock unique rewards.

Simultaneously, a paid expansion, "Raiders of the Broken Lands," has been released, adding 74 construction elements and cosmetic sets in a smuggler style.
