The medieval city-building simulator Manor Lords will receive a major patch with a complete overhaul of resident behavior
The developers of Manor Lords released a long changelist for the upcoming update. It dives into resident behavior and logistics and touches almost every major system of the medieval city-building sim.
Movement received a lot of attention. Obstacle-avoidance was tightened up, worker routines for carts were reworked, and there are new anims plus more precise resource-loading to cut down on visual glitches and item conflicts when things are moved (e.g., less snapping or overlap). Some of these tweaks feel small, but they change how traffic flows across a settlement.
Production chains were retooled as well. Workers should complete tasks more reliably now; fixes cover pastures, animal imports, shepherd logic, and trade logistics so operations don’t stall. The update also addresses cases where buildings blocked construction or where resources were miscounted during dismantling — those hiccups ought to be rarer.
There’s a separate batch of fixes aimed at paths and combat. Units getting stuck or walking through walls were dealt with, and save/load errors tied to those situations have been fixed. On the performance side, AI and anims got optimization work, which, in practice, helps stability once a settlement grows large (w/ fewer frame drops and odd pauses).
See the full changelist on the game's Steam page. If you enjoy the nitty-gritty, it’s worth a skim.
