The Lord of the Rings Online Update Adds Three New Dungeons and UI Scaling Feature
The latest update for The Lord of the Rings Online introduces three new dungeons in the Kingdoms of Harad and begins the first phase of user interface scaling, along with a number of fixes and improvements.
With the release of Update 46.1, owners of the Kingdoms of Harad expansion with characters at level 160+ can now tackle the Tier 1 and Tier 2 versions of two dungeons: Ekal-nebi, the Fallen Palace, and Kot-rau, the Weeping Fortress, as well as a 3-player dungeon — the Hoard-halls of Hurum-kana.
In Ekal-nebi, the Fallen Palace, the palace of the same name is threatened by Totril the Entangler, a Tardúg of Damudûr, who has been enchanting the palace's inhabitants over time in an attempt to seize control.
Kot-rau, the Weeping Fortress, is a citadel you are asked to enter to defeat the witch Ombátu and Rakdakûl, leader of the Utúg, who reside within. The lives of those under their influence are at stake. This dungeon features three boss battles.
The Hoard-halls of Hurum-kana is designed for three players. Players will face the robber-king, Barlat the Bold, known for his attacks on caravans and travelers on the roads.
With the introduction of UI scaling, the first phase makes over 50 UI elements scalable, including the cursor and a global scaling setting to your preference. A new "UI Settings" tab has been added to the Options menu, which is worth exploring.
Furthermore, several UI elements in full-screen mode now support widescreen displays without stretching. This applies to the login screen, character selection, the map window, and even loading screens.
The patch includes a number of fixes and improvements, including a fix for an issue where account-bound items could not be restored from a character or the shared storage after transferring from an old world.
