Legendary JRPG Final Fantasy VII to Receive a PC Re-release on Steam
Square Enix has unveiled an updated version of the classic Final Fantasy VII for Steam. All current owners of the game will receive it automatically and for free.
Following the update's release, the current version in the store will be renamed to FINAL FANTASY VII – 2013 Edition and will no longer be sold. It will remain in the libraries of those who have already purchased it. New buyers before the release date will receive both versions immediately: the old and the new.
The developers have warned that save files will not be compatible between the 2013 and 2026 editions. Each version will use its own saves.
The release date for the updated Final Fantasy VII has not been announced yet. On Steam, a 60% discount on the game is active until February 4th.
