The Indie MMORPG Dreadmyst Released — Reviews Lackluster, But Online Numbers Decent
The studio dreadmyst.com has released its debut isometric MMORPG called Dreadmyst. The game is available for free on Steam and includes no monetization.
At launch, four classic classes are available: paladin, mage, ranger, and cleric. The leveling system allows players to freely allocate points among five main attributes that affect combat effectiveness.
Players are offered both group and solo content. The key PvE activity is four-player dungeons, where coordination is crucial against bosses with unique mechanics. Fans of solo play can explore these same locations in a mode reminiscent of classic ARPGs. The game also features PvP arenas.
The peak online player count for the new release reached 4,012, which is a very respectable result. However, reviews are disappointing, with only 69% of players recommending the game. Complaints often focus on connectivity issues.
