Hand-Drawn Adventure Forgotlings About the World of Forgotten Things Releases on February 17th

A trailer announcing the release date for Forgotlings.

Publisher Hitcents and studio Throughline Games announced that the story-driven 2D adventure titled Forgotlings will see the light of day on February 17th. The game was originally slated for release in summer 2025, then postponed to autumn, but the project disappeared from the radar for a long time. Now the developers have returned with a specific date.

Our new release date trailer is here! We are happy to announce Forgotlings will release already later this month on steam! #forgotlings #forgottonanne #indiegame #newgame

Forgotlings is a cinematic side-scroller about the world of forgotten things. Old toys, lost letters, and lonely socks gain sentience here and form their own civilization. The player takes on the role of Fig—a forgotten mannequin who becomes the captain of a living ship named Flight. He must travel through the skies above ruined cities, settle conflicts, and unite five tribes on the eve of an impending catastrophe.

Gameplay revolves around choice. Problems can be solved with a blade, words, or through a game of INA—a tactical board game the developers created inspired by chess and Go. Combat allows for both direct attacks and a stealthy approach, and for those who are here solely for the story, a separate narrative mode is provided.

The developers state that all animations are hand-drawn—the creators wanted to achieve the feeling of a cartoon come to life. The music for the project was recorded by the ensemble Theatre of Voices.

According to the authors, the project is the result of five years of development and a logical continuation of the ideas from Forgotton Anne—the studio's previous work, warmly received by players and critics.

Only PC gamers on Steam will be able to enter the world of forgotten things in Forgotlings, with text translation into Russian. Console versions are in the studio's plans, but they promise to release them later. The authors have also prepared a demo version of the project.
