The first frame from "Weapon Barons" featuring Cage and Skarsgård, premiering in 2027

The film "The Arms Barons" has landed a US distributor: Vertical will handle release, and Andrew Niccol (of "Gattaca" fame) — the filmmaker behind the original — is bringing this installment to theaters in 2027. Only CinemaCon attendees (Apr 13–16, 2026) will get the first look at the trailer; organizers say it won't be posted online. Ahead of that screening a still circulated showing Nicolas Cage as an older Yuri Orlov (in his later yrs.). He learns he has a son, Anton (Bill Skarsgård), who has put together his own band of mercs. The younger man appears set on pushing his parent aside to cash in on US wars in the Mideast.
