Hater of Chinese Games, Portal Eurogamer, Hit by Massive Layoffs

The editorial staff of Eurogamer and other publications of the Gamer Network is experiencing another wave of layoffs following its acquisition by IGN Entertainment. The dismissals will affect experienced editors and the entire video department team. Layoffs have also occurred on the Outside Xbox YouTube channel.

IGN acquired Gamer Network in May 2024. Since the deal, there have been multiple rounds of layoffs and staff reshuffling across the publications. Almost the entire GamesIndustry.biz team left, and Digital Foundry became independent. In the summer, the VG247 team was moved to Eurogamer, and the departed employees were not replaced.
