The developers of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege once again promise to defeat cheaters.

Ahead of the 11th year of support for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege X, Ubisoft has announced a comprehensive set of changes aimed at protecting players and maintaining a fair competitive environment. The main efforts will focus on strengthening account security, combating cheaters, and curbing toxic behavior within the community.

The developers addressed recent cyberattacks, assuring players that user personal data and the game's source code remained secure. All inventory items lost due to the incidents have already been restored.

A significant step will be the temporary shutdown of the R6SX trading platform and the in-game store — they will remain unavailable for several months. This measure is necessary to implement a suite of protective mechanisms. These include two-factor authentication for key operations, enhanced account protection, an improved fraud detection system, and a revamp of the in-game economy. The store's operations are planned to resume only after all security upgrade stages are complete.

Special attention is given to the problem of cheating at high ranks. The game will introduce an exclusive "highly competitive" playlist called Top of the Ladder, accessible only to players with the Champion rank. It is in this mode that Ubisoft will first test the updated R6 Shieldguard platform, which will be integrated with Secure Boot technology at the system level. The developers hope this approach will allow them to refine anti-cheat mechanisms under the most challenging conditions. If testing is successful, the system is planned to be rolled out to other game modes.

Furthermore, the company intends to tighten measures against boosters — players who raise their rank for money — and smurfs — users hiding their real skill level. Those who knowingly interact with cheaters will also face sanctions. To achieve this, the reputation and real-time moderation systems will be refined.

The developers promise to make the complaint review process more transparent and to improve voice and text moderation tools. These steps are aimed at making the Rainbow Six Siege X community healthier and fairer while preserving the game's high level of competitive spirit.
