The developers of Monster Hunter Wilds have fixed a bug that was overloading the CPU.

PlayStation 5 Finally Surpasses the Worst-Selling Version — PS3

According to VGChartz, by the end of 2025, total PlayStation 5 sales reached approximately 89.44 million units. This allowed the console to surpass the total sales of the PlayStation 3, which sold 87.40 million units over its lifetime.

The result is impressive, considering that the PS5 was released in November 2020, while the PS3 was on the market from 2006–2007.

The bulk of PS5 sales came from Western regions: 31.71 million consoles were sold in Europe and 31.67 million in North America. The leaders in Europe were Germany (6.19 million), the United Kingdom (5.59 million), and France (5.08 million). In Japan, PS5 sales reached 7.33 million, which still lags behind the PS3’s result of 10.47 million there.

Now, the PS5 is aiming for new heights. The next targets are the Nintendo Wii (101.63 million), the original PlayStation (102.49 million), and its immediate predecessor — PlayStation 4, which sold 117.20 million units.
