DREADMOOR developers invite everyone to participate in pre-alpha testing The development studio has announced the imminent launch of pre-alpha testing for the adventure game DREADMOOR.
Players will be the first to experience the atmosphere of the mysterious Swamp Lake region and test the key mechanics of the project.
During testing, players will immerse themselves in a single location filled with abandoned buildings, anomalies, and points of interest. Special attention has been paid to movement dynamics: participants will try out the ship control system, which takes into account weight, inertia, and interaction with the coastline. There will also be activities familiar to adventure games, such as fishing (five types of fish are available) and lifting objects from the water with a special hook.
Players will encounter them in battles, study their behavior, and be able to obtain trophies. Basic trading, crafting, and item collection systems will allow you to experiment with resources found in the game world.
The short storyline will include notes, records, simple puzzles, and early cutscenes that set the mood and reveal the history of the location.
Testers will appreciate the HUD with status indicators, hints, and icons, as well as the inventory, character screen, log, trade, fishing, ship hold, crafting, settings, and main menu windows.
The visual component is complemented by atmospheric effects such as fog, particles, and coastline details, while the soundtrack includes ambient sounds, creature calls, fishing sounds, and several musical compositions. Testing will take place on the Steam platform (PC) in English only. An important condition for participation is signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) directly in the game when you first launch it. The developers emphasize that this is a pre-alpha version, so players may encounter crashes, bugs, and unfinished content. In addition, optimization has not yet been carried out, which means that the hardware requirements are high. The system requirements are as follows. Minimum: Intel Core i7-9750H processor, RTX 2060 6 GB graphics card, and 8-10 GB of RAM. Recommended: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X processor, 24 GB RAM, and Nvidia RTX 5080 graphics card. However, the team notes that the final requirements will be lower — the current figures reflect only the early stage of development.
