The developers of Borderlands 4 have suspended the Switch 2 version's development.
Borderlands 4 Developers Pause Switch 2 Version Development
Gearbox had planned to release Borderlands 4 on Nintendo Switch 2 in October 2025, but later the release was postponed indefinitely. Now, this release has become even more uncertain as development has been put on pause.
This information became known from a report by Take-Two, the parent company of Gearbox.
In a comment to Variety, a company representative stated that development had to be paused, and taking such a step "was not easy." The developers will continue to provide post-release support for Borderlands 4 and optimize it for other platforms.
Will the Switch version of the fourth installment be released at all? Only time will tell.
For now, you can play Borderlands 4 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series with a text translation into Russian.
