The Russian studio Sever Games has answered one of the popular questions about their new game Agent of Strange. The community was curious if the game would have a "calculator," and the short answer is no.

The authors explained that in The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante, which commentators often referenced, the "calculator" helped players understand if a character could make a certain choice in a scene. It showed how developed your attribute was and what threshold was needed to perform a particular action. In Agent of Strange, there is no need for such a system.

"The game is much more open: you often have several action options, you can enter a situation, see what's needed, exit, and try again. In most cases, different options and different outcomes will be achieved by you passing checks of your abilities: Body, Voice, Heart, Nerves, and Shadow," the studio clarified.

Regardless of the character's attribute values, there will always be a chance for success. Gamers will be able to decide for themselves whether to take risks in certain situations.

Agent of Strange was announced in July 2025. The protagonist must travel to a closed city ruled by a monstrous family and try to overthrow the regime. Previously, the developers named the films that inspired them during the game's creation. The main example for them was the thriller "Dark City."
