The psychological survival horror The Occultist was slated for 2025, but Spanish devs DALOAR and Daedalic decided to pause development. Now there's a concrete date: April 8, 2026 — roughly a month away — and the game is coming to PC (Steam), PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Small relief, perhaps, if you’ve been waiting; also a little unnerving.

No shiny new trailer has been posted to mark the occasion. Instead, Steam hosts an updated demo you can play right now. It drops you into the role of a paranormal investigator hunting for his father amid island mysticism — an island that’s outright unpleasant in more ways than one.
