Valve Introduces New Hero Silver in Deadlock

Valve has introduced a new character in Deadlock, the werewolf Silver. The new hero fits organically into the game's style, which blends science fiction with urban aesthetics. Silver's key feature is her ability to transform from a human form into a werewolf. Each form grants her unique abilities that change combat tactics.

Abilities in Human Form

• Premature Fire — Instantly reloads the weapon with a temporary increase in rate of fire and damage (proportional to the target's health). However, shooting accuracy is reduced.
• Kick — Dashes forward, striking the first enemy hit. The target takes melee damage and is marked: a shot at the marked target deals spirit damage and removes the mark.
• Entangling Bolas — Throws a projectile that deals spirit damage. The enemy is slowed, loses the ability to use stamina, jump, and movement-related abilities.
• Lycanthropy (Passive) — Dealing damage builds up "Bloodlust" (faster at low health). At maximum level, an automatic transformation occurs.
• Lycanthropy (Active) — Instantly transforms into a werewolf, granting bonuses to maximum health and movement speed. Weapons and abilities are replaced with "ferocious" versions, and rate of fire gradually increases when attacking heroes.

Abilities in Werewolf Form

• Teeth to the Throat — A melee attack against all enemies in front. Part of the damage dealt is returned as healing; the lower the enemies' health, the higher the damage.
• Crippling Leap — Dashes forward, damaging the first enemy hit. The enemy's bullet resistance is reduced and they take spirit damage over time.
• Tail Strike — A circular strike dealing spirit damage to surrounding enemies. Targets are briefly disarmed and slowed.

Silver's release is part of the major "Old Gods, New Blood" update, in which the developers introduced 6 new heroes. The update not only expanded the character roster but also emphasized the uniqueness of the Deadlock universe — a blend of mystical elements with an urban setting.
