The creators of Peak were inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
The devs behind the cooperative climbing sim Peak have said the core mechanics came straight from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Aggro Crab co-founder Nik Kaman explains the original idea was expanded — more effects, mechanics that impact characters, and other additions (e.g., weather or status changes) — until the project grew into what Peak is now. It caught on beyond casual chatter; players talked about it loudly, and industry figures took note — Xbox Portfolio and Program GM Chris Charla was among those who noticed (which, oddly, raised some eyebrows).
Earlier the creators of Peak revealed what fans can expect in 2026. The team is currently rolling out features requested by players and, after that, will turn their attention to a big biome. They weren’t promising fast results — FYI, i.e., this stuff takes time — so patience seems to be the order of the day.
