The creators of Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era have revealed a new look for the famous monster, the Hydra.

In the upcoming game Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, Unfrozen studio has presented a completely redesigned Hydra. The monster has returned to its classic four-legged stance, but has been given new snake-like heads inspired by cobras. A key gameplay change will be the mechanic of increasing attack power as damage is taken, which references the myth of regrowing heads. The Hydra will also be able to attack all surrounding enemies at once.

The unit will receive two upgrade options: one will focus on regeneration and applying poison, while the other will focus on maintaining a mass attack with the possibility of a counterattack. The game is scheduled for release in 2026. Previously, the developers had already shown the updated design of another classic creature — the jellyfish.
