The creator of "The Witcher 3" and The Blood of Dawnwalker draws inspiration from Dispatch, Crimson Desert, and Expedition 33
Preparing his new project The Blood of Dawnwalker. Konrad Tomaszkiewicz — the lead on the third "Witcher" — spoke about how the industry looks right now. He said the variety of styles on offer reminds him of the early '90s, when each game seemed to follow its own strange logic instead of fitting a mould.
Tomaszkiewicz admits he watches peers closely; he names Crimson Desert as a source of energy and also points to experiments like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Dispatch — e.g., projects that try different things with smaller teams. His view is that right now there's a window for indie studios to take risks and occasionally go up against larger firms, i.e., to carve out space without pretending it’s all easy or guaranteed.
