The creators of Sid Meier’s Civilization VII have decided to celebrate the upcoming six-month anniversary of the strategy game by releasing free content. Players can expect the Test of Time update and patch 1.3.2, which bring changes to a number of important mechanics.

The key change is the ability to play the entire game with a single faction. The lack of this feature was one of the points of criticism for the seventh installment at its release. Back in October, the developers promised to add it soon.

Another important innovation is the revamped victory system. Triumphs will be replaced by Legacy Paths, offering more flexible conditions for triumph in four different directions: military, economic, cultural, and scientific.

The audience can also expect a number of balance adjustments, additional hints in the context menu, the return of Gilgamesh, and much more.

The video also reminded that on February 5th, Sid Meier's Civilization VII will delight iPhone and iPad owners. The game will be available on Apple Arcade, but with a couple of caveats. First, the mobile version will lack multiplayer and DLC. Second, playing on large maps will only be possible for owners of devices with 8 GB of RAM or more.

The strategy's authors separately emphasized that all planned gameplay changes are based on user feedback, as players are currently not particularly satisfied with the game. Therefore, reviews on Steam remain "Mixed."
