Closed Beta Test for the Card Horror Game "Black Hand" Launches on Steam
The closed beta test for the card horror game "Black Hand" (They Come in Fives) has begun.
In "Black Hand," players become a Reaper in the service of Lucifer. The main goal is to deliver the souls of sinners to the underworld and assemble an army of "agents" from their bodies. For what purpose? To overthrow the infernal master and seize his throne.
However, to execute these Napoleonic plans, one must navigate adventures in two "modes." On Earth, players will dive into investigations of modern urban legends and confrontations. Secret government experiments and mysterious creatures are just a small part of what awaits the future ruler of hell.
The gameplay in the underworld follows "roguelike" principles and offers to navigate bureaucratic, corporate, and populist "facets" of hell, each with its own unique rules.
The developer of "Black Hand" promises to implement 70 unique agent cards, from which players must build synergies. Enhancements can be redistributed on the fly, and battles will require tactical thinking and manual control—combat takes place in a "five versus five" format.
"Black Hand" is set to release on Steam in 2026. The story is expected to touch on themes of political scandals, wars, crime, social conflicts, and more. However, the horror CCG will not feature excessive violence or erotic content.
