The Blood of Dawnwalker will ever get New Game+ – there is no date yet
Game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz confirmed that The Blood of Dawnwalker will receive a New Game Plus mode, announcing the plan during a recent stream on the PlayStation channel. He did not provide a release window.
It’s already in development. But I won’t tell you exactly when it will be released.
Tomaszkiewicz also indicated the studio is still shaping the post-release support roadmap and is not rushing to disclose further details.
The decision to add New Game Plus follows directly from the game’s design. A core mechanic in The Blood of Dawnwalker uses a time-tracking system that prevents players from seeing every piece of content in a single playthrough. Likewise, some upgrades for the protagonist Cohen cannot be obtained within one run. A New Game Plus mode would let players carry character progress into subsequent playthroughs, enabling them to finish outstanding quests, accumulate the remaining upgrades and grow Cohen’s power — potentially at the cost of facing stronger foes to keep the challenge.
That trade-off raises balancing concerns. The Blood of Dawnwalker centers on choices and consequences, and allowing a replay with an already-upgraded hero could undermine some of those systems. For instance, confronting the antagonist Brencis early on might become significantly easier if a player brings a full set of abilities from a prior run. How the developers plan to reconcile carryover progression with the game’s decision-driven structure has not been explained.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The title has sold more than one million copies.
