The Division 3 Authors Believe the Sequel Will Have the Same Impact as the First Part

The executive producer of The Division series and creative director of Star Wars Outlaws, Julian Gerighty, believes the third MMO shooter will replicate the success of the original. According to him, Tom Clancy’s The Division 3 will be a project of the same scale and significance as the 2016 game.

Gerighty returned to the franchise in 2023 when Ubisoft officially announced the development of The Division 3. During the New Game+ show, he admitted that he's not ready to share details yet but emphasized that the Massive Entertainment team is working on a truly large-scale game.

The Division 3 is in production, that's no secret. The project is growing into a real monster,” said Gerighty. According to him, the studio is doing everything possible to ensure the new game has as strong an impact on the series and players as the first The Division.

The Division 3 currently has no release date or platform list. In the meantime, Massive Entertainment continues to develop the now-veteran The Division 2, which launched in 2019. Over the past years, the game has received several major updates, and support is ongoing.

In 2026, a major expansion, The Division 2: Survivors, is set to be released. The update will coincide with the 10th anniversary of The Division. It will introduce a new extraction mode and significantly alter the map: a snowstorm will hit Washington, covering the city in snow and greatly affecting gameplay.
