Assassin's Creed Shadows Update Grants Players Freedom of Movement and New Challenges

Ubisoft has announced the release of update 1.1.8 for Assassin's Creed Shadows. Today's patch introduces significant gameplay changes, expands visual capabilities, and launches a special community event.

The main innovation is the free jump mechanic. Players now have full control over their movements: no longer reliant on automated parkour, they can independently choose the moment and direction of a jump. This opens up new tactical possibilities both for world exploration and evading enemies.

In addition, the update adds a detailed statistics page. With its help, players can analyze their achievements, track progress, and compare results with other participants.

Combat scenes will become even more spectacular thanks to new visual effects for critical hits: improved animation and dynamic details make successful attacks truly impressive.

To celebrate the patch's release, the developers have launched a social challenge. Participants are invited to record their travel routes across Sengoku-era Japan and demonstrate their mastery of the new free jump mechanic. Finished videos should be posted on social media with the official hashtag. Winners will be selected based on two criteria: the cleanliness of the run and the efficiency of the route. The best participants will receive exclusive in-game prizes.
