Developers of Starsand Island Farm Share Details on Content Awaiting Players in the Early Access Version
Studio Seed Sparkle Lab has announced the upcoming release of the Early Access version for the simulation game Starsand Island. The developers presented an extensive package of innovations that significantly expand the game world and mechanics following the demo testing.
The central new feature is a full-fledged four-season system. The game world now lives according to an annual cycle: changing seasons transform the appearance of locations, affect resource availability, and unlock access to thematic festivals—from Lunar New Year to a summer beach festival.
Significant changes have been made to farming. Players have access to about a hundred types of crops, and a new hybridization mechanic allows for creating unique flowers. In later stages, the ability to build greenhouses becomes available, where rare plants can be grown regardless of the season. To ease routine processes, special machines and tools have been introduced, automating stone mining, tree felling, and field irrigation.
Animal husbandry has also received a major expansion: in addition to traditional poultry, players can now raise cows and alpacas. Over 40 subspecies and color variations of pets are available, along with more than ten specialized tools and structures for their care.
Fishing has been enhanced with a system of fishing traps, complementing the existing mechanics. The collection of aquatic creatures has grown to a hundred species, including legendary "king fish" such as arapaima, long-whiskered dragon, and glowing royal fish.
The social aspect of the game has been enriched by increasing the number of interactive NPCs to fifteen. Four new companions feature deep storylines with full voice acting, which unlock upon reaching a high level of trust.
The world of Starsand Island has expanded geographically with the addition of the new Moonlit Forest region. This territory includes twelve camps and three epic bosses, each offering unique challenges and rewards.
Customization and space arrangement possibilities have grown significantly. Players can decorate their homes using over three hundred pieces of furniture and decor. Three new types of estate environments are available: Azure Shore, Bamboo Forest Lake, and Private Island. The transportation arsenal has been expanded with forty types of vehicles and mounts—from gliders to customizable vans. A new modular clothing system with an infinite color wheel allows for detailed character appearance customization: hair, eye, and skin tones.
The Early Access version will be released in the first quarter of 2026. The game's price will be announced on February 2, 2026. The full release, including multiplayer support, is planned for summer 2026.
