Turner is actively immersing herself in the world of Tomb Raider by playing the games in the series and studying the comics. At the same time, she deliberately avoids watching existing screen adaptations — both the Angelina Jolie duology from the early 2000s and the 2018 reboot with Alicia Vikander. The animated series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft" on Netflix, where the heroine was voiced by Hayley Atwell.

I play games, read comics, do everything at once, but I try not to focus on previous screen adaptations. I don't want to imitate — it's important for me to create my own version of Lara.

The actress is taking the physical aspect of the role seriously and began training in February 2025. Filming for the project will begin on January 16, 2026. Although the details of the plot have not yet been revealed, the cast is gradually being announced:

  • Martin Bobb-Semple will play Zip;
