Snapdragon X2 to Appear in Desktop PCs — New Horizons for Windows on ARM

Qualcomm has presented its vision for the future of desktop PCs based on Snapdragon X2 processors. Although the company refers to "desktop solutions," teasers and reference designs clearly indicate that these will not be full-sized large system units, but rather ultra-compact systems.

In general, hopes for the possibility of connecting full-fledged discrete graphics to Snapdragon processors are currently non-existent, despite earlier rumors to that effect circulating in light of various patches for Linux and other platforms. For now, we can only wait for a new player to emerge in the desktop PC market, but that event is still very far off.
