Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro is about to break the 6.0 GHz barrier very soon

Insiders report that Qualcomm's future chip, likely the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, could reach a minimum clock speed of 5 GHz. For comparison, the current flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 has a clock speed of up to 4.61 GHz.

It is assumed that to combat overheating at such frequencies, an improved cooling technology will be used, such as an analogue of Samsung's Heat Pass Block. This will allow the chip to operate stably without throttling.

The processor is expected to be manufactured using the TSMC N2P process, receive support for LPDDR6 memory and UFS 5.0 storage. Its announcement is scheduled for the second half of 2026.
