Samsung to Focus on Galaxy S26 Ultra at the Expense of Other Models in the Lineup

Samsung has allocated about three-quarters of the initial production volume for the Galaxy S26 series to the Galaxy S26 Ultra model. This indirectly indicates that the company expects low consumer interest in the other two models in the lineup.

According to insider Ice Universe, the initial production run of the devices will be distributed as follows:

  • Galaxy S26 Ultra — 3.6 million units;
  • Galaxy S26 (base version) — 700 thousand units;
  • Galaxy S26+ — 600 thousand units.

The combined initial volume for the two junior models will be only 1.3 million units — more than 2.7 times less than for the Ultra version.

Historically, the Ultra model accounts for about 50% of S-series sales. However, in this cycle, its share of initial production will reach an anomalous 73.5%.

The flagship is expected to feature:

  • several color options, including the striking Cobalt Violet;
  • rounded edges on the body;
  • a dedicated camera "island" with a triple-lens system;
  • a fully black finish (including the frame);
  • a USB-C port;
  • An S Pen stylus;
  • a 5,000 mAh battery (according to some reports — 5,200 mAh).

The key innovation of the series will be the Flex Magic Pixel OLED technology, which implements the "Privacy Display" function. Using AI, the screen darkens the side viewing angles while maintaining brightness when viewed directly. This will prevent others from peeking at the smartphone's content from side angles.
