Sales of the Silent Hill series have surpassed 14 million copies, while Metal Gear has broken the 65.5 million mark.
Silent Hill Series Sales Exceed 14 Million Copies — Metal Gear Surpasses 65.5 Million
Konami's Silent Hill has surpassed 14 million copies sold. Just at the end of September, the franchise had reached 13 million sales — the additional million was helped by Silent Hill 2 Remake and last year's Silent Hill f.
Metal Gear's achievements in the last three months of 2025 were much more modest. By the end of December, the series' total shipments reached 65.5 million copies — approximately 400 thousand more than in September.
Overall, the "leaders" in Konami's portfolio look as follows:
- Metal Gear — 65.5 million copies since 1987;
- Yu-Gi-Oh! — 32.5 million copies since 1998;
- PAWAFURU PUROYAKYU — 26.3 million copies since 1994;
- Momotaro Dentetsu — 19.9 million copies since 1988;
- Silent Hill — 14 million copies since 1999;
- eFootball — 950 million downloads and sales since 1995.
Moving forward, Konami is expected to focus on the Silent Hill series. The Japanese company hopes to release new installments annually. It's possible that horror fans can expect Silent Hill: Townfall in 2026. According to insiders, the game's release could happen as early as March 26.
Plans for Metal Gear remain more vague. The latest game in the series was Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater — a remake of the third installment. Within the first 24 hours of its release in August 2025, its shipments exceeded one million copies.
