Survival Game ASKA Receives Patch Fixing Critical Bugs and Upgrades to New Unity Engine Version
The developers of ASKA have released a major update that addresses a number of long-standing issues, including the infamous metal parts bug. Additionally, the game has transitioned to a new game engine and gained a range of fresh features.
A key change affects gameplay: villagers (stonemasons, hunters, and sometimes kennel workers) can now collect bones and metal scraps from the bodies of defeated enemies. This opens up new opportunities for gathering valuable resources directly on the battlefield.
The update also adjusted the lifespan of golems—they now exist for 80 days, providing more time for their use in farming and defense. Harbor placement has been simplified: the process has become more intuitive and convenient for players.
Changes have also been made to resource gathering methods. Skeletons are now dismantled with a pickaxe, and stonemasons have begun collecting metal scraps—this expands their role in the settlement's economy. Vikings sent on expeditions now explore all islands except the main one, allowing players to find more useful materials and discover new territories.
The game's interface has become more functional: new actions have been added to the inventory menu, and additional key combinations have been provided for the cauldron—this simplifies control and speeds up access to important functions.
A bug with the prepared food storage has been fixed: it now returns the correct components when dismantled, eliminating resource loss. Dogs and tamed animals now feed on bone fragments, making their upkeep more profitable and varied.
Significant fixes have been made to the combat system. The triggering of a heavy attack with a double-click while using a shield has been eliminated, and animation speeds have been adjusted—as a result, sword and shield battles have become more responsive and dynamic.
Finally, the game has transitioned to the updated Unity 6.3 engine. This lays the foundation for further performance optimization and the implementation of new technologies in future updates.
