Robo-Ky will storm into Guilty Gear: Strive on July 2
At EVO 2026, developers from Arc System Works revealed when the next Season 5 fighter lands for Guilty Gear: Strive: Robo-Ky, the series’ comical automaton, becomes playable on July 2. He used to appear only as Venom’s flying head; now he has a full chassis again and seems set on outdoing the original — amusing, if you ask me.
Alongside a new trailer, the team showed off Robo-Ky’s in-match kit. Highlights:
- Electric Guage — Robo-Ky builds up energy during fights; more charge = stronger specials (yes, the gauge is literal).
- Gimmic-KY — he deploys a mat in front of him that stores Electric Guage charge for later use.
- Jun-KY Bargain — fires a hand-shaped projectile. At lvl. 2 the shot homes in, and at lvl. 3 it splits into multiple projectiles, i.e., bigger trouble for anyone mid-screen.
- KY-Zen Blitz — a quick rush that also charges the Electric Guage and adds an extra hit on contact.
- Spar-KY Surprise — two shocker jabs that bypass blocking altogether (so don’t expect this to be polite).
- Luc-KY Launcher — an uppercut that sends foes skyward; its launch power scales with the Electric Guage.
- Beautiful S-KY Today — Robo-Ky performs a jump and a short flight — yes, it’s as goofy as it sounds.
- What’s Useless will Always Be So — a gauge-draining combo whose hit count depends on how much energy’s been racked up.
- Ris-KY Lovers — a temporary buff that spends Electric Guage to beef up specials; when the meter hits zero, Robo-Ky detonates, damaging nearby opponents.
Like Jam before him, Robo-Ky comes with seven alternate colors and gets a bespoke track by Daisuke Ishiwatari on release. The devs didn’t stop there: two more fighters are slated for winter and spring 2027, still under wraps.
Guilty Gear: Strive is available on PC (Steam), PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch without Russian localization.
