Riot Games has introduced a new character for the fighting game 2XKO — the sniper Caitlyn

Riot Games has announced the addition of a new fighter to the fighting game 2XKO—sniper Caitlyn, familiar to players from the League of Legends universe. The heroine will appear in the game on January 20, 2026, the day of the project's official release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.

Caitlyn is built around the concept of distance control. Her main weapon is a rifle that allows her to effectively attack enemies from a long distance. In combat, she can also use traps to restrict the enemy's maneuverability and a special shield through which she fires, which increases the power of her shots.

Kaitlyn's playstyle requires the player to position themselves carefully: it is important to choose your spot in the arena wisely and wait for your opponent to make a mistake before delivering the decisive blow. However, the heroine has a clear weakness — she is extremely vulnerable in close combat. Mobile opponents who can quickly close the distance deprive the sniper of her key advantages. In addition, players will have to rely entirely on their own skills: unlike League of Legends, there are no minions or towers in 2XKO that could help in battle. Control of the situation remains solely in the hands of the combatant.

Caitlyn's release coincides with the start of the first season of 2XKO, marking the game's transition from early access to full release. The project has been available on PC since October 2025, and the console launch will not only expand the audience but also add new fighters to the roster.

Caitlyn embodies the idea of a "zoning" character. Her key task is to keep the enemy at a distance and dictate the terms of the fight. This makes her a valuable choice for 2v2 team battles, which are at the heart of 2XKO's gameplay mechanics.
