Resident Evil Requiem Receives Final Previews with Leon Gameplay

The horror game Resident Evil Requiem has received final previews from journalists ahead of the publication of full reviews. Press representatives were able to play for about three hours, including as Leon Kennedy — the second main protagonist.

Traditionally for the latest releases in the series, the press was impressed by the upcoming title. The author with his little axe — the pacing is on par with Resident Evil 4. After intense battles, players will find themselves in Grace's shoes — here the game resembles the seventh installment. However, the heroine's arsenal is very limited, so the emphasis is on stealth.

The journalist separately noted the "individuality" inherent in different zombies — many of them continue to perform their jobs even after becoming the walking dead. Capcom didn't even shy away from adding funny moments that might elicit laughter — which is atypical for the series.

However, the "pendulum" swings not only when switching between characters. Even playing as Grace, the journalist experienced a range of emotions: upon dying, he fled from a monster, then found a healing item and "got back in the game." A similar "speed and brutality" of gameplay was not present in the seventh and eighth installments.

The reviewer also noted that in the hospital segment, Leon will follow in Grace's footsteps — enemies and items will remain in the same places they were last left. However, the developers confirmed that the two heroes will also have their own unique missions. Including a horror segment featuring Leon.

In the blog The seasoned fighter will have an arsenal of numerous guns that can be upgraded — the mechanic will resemble the Resident Evil 4 remake. And the old reliable knife has been replaced by a combat hatchet — it won't be able to break, but it will need to be sharpened periodically.

Resident Evil Requiem releases on February 27 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2. The game has been added to the wishlists of over four million gamers across different platforms.
