Renowned Composer Akira Yamaoka Confirms Involvement in Silent Hill Remake Development
Renowned composer and musician Akira Yamaoka recently met with fan TheAnthony247 at his concert in San Diego. During the conversation, the musician shared important news about upcoming projects in the Silent Hill series.
According to Yamaoka, he is indeed involved in the development of the new Silent Hill Remake. The game is being developed by the Polish studio Bloober Team, which previously successfully released the remake of the second installment of the cult series. It is worth noting that the composer's collaboration with the developers is not new—he has already worked on the soundtrack for Silent Hill 2 Remake and the game The Medium.
However, Akira Yamaoka is not involved in the work on the new installment of the series, Silent Hill: Townfall. This game is being created by the Scottish studio Screen Burn, known for projects like Observation and Stories Untold. Recently, a gameplay trailer for the game was presented at the State of Play event, allowing fans to appreciate not only the visual aspects but also the musical design of the project.
Silent Hill: Townfall will be released on PC and PlayStation 5 in 2026. The game will feature Russian text localization. The plot will center on Simon Ordel, who travels to the mysterious town on the island of Saint Amelia with a mission to "make everything right."
